Sally originally started her career as an atmospheric physicist and flew NASA weather rockets as part of her first PhD thesis. She later changed career, and qualified in practice with Howarth, Clarke and Whitehill. Sally has worked within both large and small charities including Amnesty International, British Heart Foundation and The British Council, and has been a Financial Director for 20+ years. She has a wealth of expertise and experience gained through working within diverse, multi-faceted and complex organisations within the: Public, Charity, Commercial and Voluntary Sectors.
She possesses a strong background in accounting, auditing, financial compliance and statutory reporting, a proven track record of evaluating risks, developing strategies, resolving issues and delivering IT solutions on time and within budget. Sally has overseen Facilities, HR and IT over the years and has managed a number of system implementations. In 2015, Sally was awarded the Lead Women in Management (WWOFW) award and in 2016, she was a finalist for the UK FD award for the Not-for-Profit Sector.
Sally absolutely loves challenges and pushes herself constantly – she is currently undertaking a Law Degree! Her stress buster!
