Arhag’s Board Chair, Reena Purchase, steps up to the National Housing Federation’s Chairs' Challenge

Arhag is proud to announce that our Chair, Reena Purchase, has joined the National Housing Federation's Chairs’ Challenge, an initiative that encourages chairs to lead the way in creating more diverse and inclusive organisations in the housing sector. By adding her name to the list of fellow chairs who are taking up the challenge, Reena has committed to working with all members of the Arhag board to create a roadmap for success and drive change within our organisation.

The Chairs’ Challenge recognises that the leadership of chairs as crucial for driving and embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within their organisations. As part of the Chairs’ Challenge, Reena highlights that “Diversity and inclusion are not just about ticking boxes, but about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. I am thrilled to contribute towards building a more equitable workplace and leading the way through Arhag's efforts.” With Reena’s leadership and experience in the charity and housing association sectors, we are confident that she will be invaluable in creating a vision for the Arhag board to become more equal, diverse, and inclusive.

What does this mean in practice?

Reena's commitment to the Chairs’ Challenge means that she will work with our board to develop a roadmap that promotes EDI and sets clear expectations for behaviours and culture. We are excited about this opportunity to drive change in diversity and inclusion within the housing sector, and we invite you to learn more about our commitment to this cause by visiting the National Housing Federation's website at https://www.housing.org.uk/our-work/governance/Roadmap-to-equality
